How current are these sizes?

They reflect what the platforms publish for 2026. Networks change crops quietly, so treat the aspect ratio as the reliable part — export at the listed pixel size or any larger multiple of the same ratio.

What is a safe zone?

The area no interface chrome covers. Stories, Reels and Shorts put buttons and captions over the top and bottom ~250px, and a YouTube banner shows only its middle 1546×423 on some devices. Keep logos and text inside the dashed rectangle.

Should I upload bigger than the listed size?

Uploading 2× the listed size at the same ratio usually looks sharper on high-density screens. Do not go beyond that: every platform re-compresses, and huge files just get crushed harder.
