FAQ
Can it open a PDF whose password I have lost?
No. Decryption needs the key, and the key comes from the password. There is no back door here and the file is never sent anywhere, so a forgotten password means the document stays shut.
What does “unlocked losslessly” mean?
It means the page objects were decrypted and written back unchanged, so text stays selectable, fonts stay embedded and links keep working. The tool checks the result against the original before handing it to you.
Why would a file be rebuilt from images instead?
A few documents use encryption variants that cannot be rewritten object by object. Rather than give you a broken file, the tool renders each page and rebuilds the PDF from those pictures — everything looks the same, but the text layer is gone.
