Simplified ⇄ Traditional Chinese
Convert Chinese between Simplified and Traditional with Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japanese variants — including regional vocabulary.
The conversion dictionary could not be downloaded, so the built-in single-character table is being used. Character shapes are correct, but regional vocabulary (软件 → 軟體) and context-sensitive characters are not converted.

How to use the Simplified–Traditional converter
- Paste or type Chinese text into the input box on the left.
- Pick a direction and a target standard — Taiwan + local vocabulary also swaps mainland words for their Taiwanese equivalents (软件 → 軟體, 鼠标 → 滑鼠), while the plain variants only change character shapes.
- Copy the result, download it as a .txt file, or drop whole .txt files into the batch box below to convert them at once.
FAQ
What is the difference between Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japanese output?
Traditional Chinese is not one single standard. Taiwan prefers 臺/裡, Hong Kong prefers 台/裏, and Japanese shinjitai uses simplified forms of its own (国鉄広場). Choosing the right target gives text that looks native to its readers.
Why is 「软件 → 軟體」 only converted in one mode?
Character conversion and vocabulary conversion are separate steps. The plain modes map characters one by one, so 软件 becomes 軟件. The + local vocabulary modes also apply a phrase dictionary, turning it into 軟體 the way a Taiwanese writer would.
Does my text leave the browser?
No. The OpenCC dictionary is downloaded once from a CDN and everything after that runs locally — your text and your files are never sent anywhere.
