How to test your devices before a call

  1. Click Test camera and Test microphone and allow access — you should see yourself and watch the level bar move when you speak.
  2. Play the left and right test tones to confirm both channels of your headphones work.
  3. Tap keys, move the mouse in the box, and read the screen panel for resolution, pixel ratio and refresh rate.

FAQ

Is my camera or microphone recorded?

No. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere — the preview and the level meter are live and disappear the moment you press stop or leave the page. This tool only reads the streams to show you they work.

The camera light stays on after I finish. Why?

Press Turn camera off: that stops every track and the indicator goes out within a second. Reloading or closing the tab does the same. If a light stays on after that, another application — a meeting app in the background is the usual culprit — is holding the camera.

How accurate is the refresh rate?

It is estimated by counting animation frames for one second, so it lands within a frame or two of the real value: 60 Hz screens usually read 59–61. Browsers can throttle background tabs, so keep this tab in front while measuring, and note that variable-refresh displays report whatever they happen to be running at.
