How to make a code screenshot
- Paste your snippet into the editor and pick its language, or leave it on automatic detection.
- Choose a theme, a gradient or solid background, padding, font size and whether to show line numbers, the macOS window buttons and a file name.
- Click Download PNG 2× for a crisp retina image, or Copy image to paste it straight into a chat or slide.
FAQ
Which languages are supported?
The bundled highlight.js build covers the ~40 most common languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C/C++, C#, PHP, Ruby, Swift, Kotlin, SQL, Bash, JSON, YAML, HTML, CSS, Markdown, Diff and more. Automatic detection guesses from the code itself.
Why is 2× better?
1× matches what you see on screen; 2× renders at double resolution so the text stays sharp on retina displays and when the image is scaled up in a slide or blog post.
Does my code leave the browser?
No. Highlighting and image rendering both run locally — nothing is uploaded, which matters if the snippet contains keys or internal code.
