Remove EXIF & download
The stripped copy is re-encoded from the pixels, so every tag — including GPS — is gone. JPEG output is re-compressed once at the quality below; PNG output is lossless.
How to read a photo's EXIF data
- Drop a JPEG, HEIC, TIFF or PNG into the box — it is parsed locally, so the photo never leaves your device.
- Read the camera, lens and exposure summary at the top, then expand All tags for the raw list including maker notes, XMP and IPTC.
- If the photo carries GPS, use the OpenStreetMap link to see where it was taken, then click Remove EXIF & download to get a clean copy to share.
FAQ
Why does my photo show no EXIF?
Screenshots, images exported by many social apps and pictures saved from websites are usually stripped already. PNG and WebP files also rarely carry EXIF.
Does removing EXIF change the picture?
The pixels are redrawn to a canvas and re-encoded. Choose PNG for a lossless copy; JPEG re-compresses once, which at quality 92+ is visually identical but slightly changes the file.
Can someone find my home address from a photo?
If the GPS tags are present, yes — they pinpoint where the shot was taken to a few metres. Strip metadata before posting photos taken at home.
