How to crop an image

  1. Drop a picture in. The crop box appears over the whole image — drag it to move, drag a corner or edge to resize, or pinch on a phone.
  2. Pick a ratio chip (1:1 for avatars, 16:9 for thumbnails, 9:16 for stories) or type an exact pixel width and height. Rotate, flip and zoom with the buttons under the picture.
  3. Choose PNG, JPG or WebP and press Crop & download.

FAQ

Does cropping reduce quality?

Cropping itself only removes pixels, so the part you keep stays exactly as it was. Re-encoding to JPG or WebP adds a little loss; choose PNG if the image must stay pixel-identical.

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?

Yes — type the width and height under Output size and the crop box snaps to it. Combine that with a ratio chip to keep the shape while you move the box around.

What happens to transparency?

PNG and WebP keep it. JPG cannot, so transparent pixels are filled with the colour you pick before the file is written.

Is the picture uploaded?

No — the crop is computed on a canvas inside your browser and the file is written straight to your downloads folder.
